Boat trip on the Rupel

With its location on the Rivers Rupel and Scheldt and the Vaart, the Rupel Area-Vaartland region is a perfect place to explore from the water. Depending on your budget and the size of your group, there are various ways to do this.

The ‘Riverstar’ and ‘Rivertours’ companies plan regular boat trips for individuals or small groups. From 1 April to 30 September they offer a wide range of outings, from culinary boat trips to short tours or to a great day out. You can find information about all their trips on their respective websites www.rivertours.be and www.riverstar.be

For smaller groups (up to 8 people) ‘Pleasure Boating’ offers day trips to Boom and Klein-Willebroek on a proper yacht. The boat leaves from Mechelen in the morning and sails via 3 bridges and 2 locks to the Rupel. At midday the boat moors in Boom or Klein-Willebroek giving you the chance to have lunch and see the surroundings, after which it returns to Mechelen. It’s a really unique experience!

If none of the offers appeal to you, or there are no boat trips planned on the day you want, you can also hire a boat to suit your own requirements. Ask for a customised quote from the Rupel Area-Vaartland Tourist Office.
